CO2 Emissions
The emission of large amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere is the main cause of the climate crisis.
The overall increase in average temperatures is at the root of problems such as desertification,
floods, melting glaciers, and the increase in sea levels.

To mitigate the catastrophic effects of climate change, through the Paris Agreement of 2015, the governments of the member states of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change have undertaken
to pursue the aim of limiting the increase in global temperature to below 1.5 degrees Celsius.
To achieve this result, emissions need to be halved by 2030 - and net zero by 2050.
