LESS WATER
We all know that water is a precious resource and, unfortunately, there is less and less of it.

There are different reasons for this: on one hand, continued climate change that has a profound effect on the availability
and quality of the freshwater on the planet. On the other, wide-scale use - and often waste - of water
for domestic use, or water used to produce energy, and many other manufacturing sectors, including fashion.
It is important that we act now,
and change to a responsible
everyday use of this
vital resource.

WE HAVE ONLY ONE WORLD
(WITH LIMITED WATER)
More sustainable cotton
OVS adheres to Better Cotton, an initiative that sets the standard, thanks to which farmers can grow cotton in a way that is better for them, for their communities, and for the environment in which they live and work.
Better Cotton
Better Cotton promotes sustainable water use at environmental level, and fair use at economic and social levels.

This approach to water stewardship is able to improve crop yield, boost resilience to climate change, minimise the negative impact on water quality, as well as allowing fair access to water for all.
Better Cotton

Better Cotton also helps farmers to gradually eliminate the use of Highly Hazardous Pesticides which pollute groundwater and place the health of the environment and workers in the field at serious risk.

Choosing our more sustainable cotton, implementing farming practices that reduce water waste and safeguard its quality.
Eco Denim
We did not stop at a sustainable capsule: all our denim is made in a more responsible manner.

Manufacturing a pair of jeans with conventional methods can take up to 10,000 litres of water. At OVS, 100 litres is enough.

This is possible thanks to responsible cotton growing, which notably reduces water use.
Eco Denim
Our Eco Denim is dyed using an innovative process based on fibres with a high absorption capacity when it comes to colour, which means saving 66% water compared to traditional dyeing processes. We also use water treatment systems that allow up to 80% of the water to be re-used.

By 2025, 100% of our denim will be waterless, in other words produced using advanced techniques that allow us to save up to 95% of the water from the process. We currently produce more than 40% of our ranges with these more sustainable methods.
